Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is a non-profit organization set up in 1984 with the mandate to protect and conserve vast natural, built and cultural heritage of different States of India.
Today, it is the country’s largest non-profit membership organization dedicated to the conservation and preservation of our natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage.
INTACH is essentially a volunteer based organization and its enthusiastic volunteers in a network of chapters in cities, towns and villages across the country are largely responsible for the spread of awareness about the vast cultural heritage of the country.
INTACH Kashmir team consists of multidisciplinary conservation experts who are working towards preserving the cultural legacy of Kashmir by creating awareness, mediating between State and public institutions and indivisuals, offering architectural and engineering consultation to owners of heritage buildings, and documenting cultural properties within the state.
