Master Plan (2015-2035) of Srinagar was put up in public domain by Srinagar Development Authority on 17th May 2017 for seeking views and response from citizens. The released document, besides being voluminous, is in the language that might not have been fully comprehendible to most of the citizens. The participants included civil society members, Engineers, architects
and planners, former Municipal Commissioners, Journalists and Cultural activists besides the concerned citizens (list attached in Annexure 1). After this elaborate presentation, the consultation session began with Mr. M. Shafi Pandit, (Rtd IAS Officer) and former Chairman Public Service Commission and Mr. Ashraf Fazili, Rtd Chief Engineer, Chairperson Institution of Engineers, as the Chair and co-Chair on the Panel. Detailed proposals, recommendations etc. in the draft document were analyzed and discussed.
